Pierced Channel
Channel with Holes
9⁄16" (14mm) Holes are punched on 2" (51mm) centers .
Add "HS" to channel number . Example: FS12158HS
Channel with Short Slots
9⁄16" x 1-1⁄8" (14mm x 29mm) Slots are punched
on 2" (51mm) centers .
Add "EH" to channel number . Example: FS12158EH
Channel with Long Slots
13⁄32" x 3" (10mm x 76mm) Slots are punched
on 4" (102mm) centers .
Add "SL" to channel number . Example: FS12158SL

Channel with Specialty
Custom Perforations
Designation is indicated by adding type of perforation from standard selection and pertinent dimensional information .
Example: FS12158HS 1" from each end .
Channel with Holes on 3 Sides
9⁄16" (14mm) Holes are punched
on 3 sides and on 2" (51mm) centers .
Add "HS3" to channel number . Example: FS12158HS3
Small Channel with Holes on 3 Sides
1⁄4" (6mm) Holes are punched
on 3 sides and on 2" (51mm) centers .
Add "HS3-114" to channel number . Example: FS12158HS3-114
Channel with Short Slots
9⁄16" x 1-1⁄8" (14mm x 29mm) Slots are punched on
2" (51mm) centers .
Add "EH" to channel number . Example: FS12158EHBB

   • Long Spans may have to be braced to prevent rotation and twist.
• Beam loading data already includes the weight of the member. This weight will have to be deducted in order to arrive at the net allowable load said beam span will carry.
• Maximum allowable uniformly distributed loads are listed for simple spans consisting of a beam on two supports. If a load is to be concentrated at center of span, multiply the given load by 0.5 and corresponding deflection by 0.8.
